OK, I agree that these are very nice shoes... BUT... #1 - why does one need special shoes JUST for driving, #2 - how to do you get TO and FROM your car (if they are only meant for DRIVING and not walking???), and #3 - why would one spend $400 on a pair of SHOES??? This coming from an admitted SHOE ADDICT!!! lol

Driving shoes have a softer sole that continues up the back of the shoe or the heel is made of a softer material to protect your auto carpeting around the gas and brake pedal.
They really make sense for protecting your carpeting; however, I agree there are some very good ones for less than $400.

These are hardly driving shoes. A proper driving shoe has a wider toebox to make heel-toe shifting easier(manual transmission) and a rounded off heal (Look at wrestling boots or new split heel Pumas). The heel is poorly styled and if anything will hamper driving. Gucci really dropped the ball with this one.

I have these shoes and I rarely wear them to drive.
The driving shoe is classic and comfortable..
Most of us prefer to be driven anyway

Haha, I read a book called The Booster. It kinda sucked but it mentioned driving shoes the same way. Most people who wear expensive driving shoes get driven around anyways, and the thinner the sole on them, the more expensive stuff you can get em to buy.

For Petes sake...what in the heck in this world coming to....the money some spend on oneselfs is a sin when we have over 350,000 homeless in this country....take that 400 dollars and go to a Walmart and load up with childrens shoes and take it to nearest church or homeless shelter for those who own no shoes and then know you have been blessed for your charity

Interesting how those with too much money would rather spend it on things that obviously have a very high retail price compared to the cost to manufacture and sell them as opposed to buying, say, $80 or 90 Puma's ($110 at Neiman Marcus), which are still outrageously overpriced (and made in a sweatshop to boot) but leave the purchaser with a few extra bills to help others.

THE WORDS "SHALLOW" AND "RIDICULOUS" COME TO MIND. INSTEAD OF SPENING MONEY ON THESE SHOES TRY GIVING THE MONEY TO A LOCAL NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY, OR A VETERANS HOMELESS SHELTER. WAKE UP THERE ARE MORE THINGS IMPORTANT THAN SHOES FOR DRIVING. WHAT USE ARE THEY WHEN YOUR NOT DRIVING. MOST OF THE TIME YOU CANT EVEN DIRECTLY SEE YOUR FEET WHEN DRIVING MUCH LESS SOMEONE ELSE. MAYBE AL GORE CAN WHERE THEM DRIVING HIS GAS GUZZLING SUV'S OR WHEN FLYING IN HIS "OZONE KILLING" PLANES. THEN WE COULD CALL THEM DRIVING THE HYPOCRIT SHOES. HAH

Please-first of all, they are butt ugly, second, I can think of a whole lot more fun ways to spend $400 than on a pair of impractical driving shoes. Let me guess, probably can't get them wet either or they melt. Who has the time or money to switch from walking to driving shoes anyway? I barely make it to my appointments most days fully dressed without having to worry about something else. Get a life

I never understood the concept of a driving shoe until I bought an old sport car with a clutch, I can tell you there are times when you do need a driving shoe so you can really get a feel for the car. Also, IAP catalog has some very nice driving shoes that are from italy and very well priced.
