A Metallica Mansion, Estate of the Day

Via the gossip watchers at ONTD comes this celebrity-owned beauty. This moody masterpiece belongs to Kirk Hammett, the guitarist for Metallica. The home, located in Pacific Heights is a Georgian home dating back to around 1899. This exquisite example of classic San Franciscan excess is located on a hill and offers privacy and a touch of mystery. The home's facade matches well with the interior's velvet and burgundy style. The home has large rooms with details of carved wood ceilings, wainscoting and French doors. Newer touches can be seen in the gleaming appliances and granite countertops in the kitchen. The master suite has views out to the Bay. Special rooms include a billiard room, bar and cigar/wine room and a music studio. The home is one of San Francisco's treasures and is listed at $12.5 million. After the jump, the perfect shade of rock star red.

Yeesh...looks like Shady Rest Funeral Home. Suppose that works for the Genre of Kirk, however....

Beautiful home. That's exactly how I'd decorate if I had more money and a house grand enough to get away with it without looking cheesy.

thats exactly the house i would have if i were guitarist for metallica.kinda cool to see that not all of his money went for sex, drugs, and other excesses.

Nice home Kirk! Were you able to afford that after you got people to stop downloading your songs illegally?
E. Arthquake Sep 19th 2006 11:18PM
So, how about those starving children in Africa?
Atlas Fingers Collins Sep 19th 2006 11:38PM
Cool House! Lots of nooks and crannies to hide drugs in.
Zakk Wylde Sep 19th 2006 11:44PM
Did Lars ever get that golden unicorn statue that he was crying about in the South Park episode?
Hadding "Big Stick" Sigurdsen Sep 19th 2006 11:51PM
Wow! It cleaned up real nice, Kirk! How many Mexican scrub women did it take to get the smell out?

Just wondering, did you buy this house before or after you sold out? Did liveing here help you make crappy music and help you to screw over your fan base?
Sin Sep 20th 2006 2:09AM
Some of you guys are just plain, ignorant, idiots. Explain to me exactly how Metallica "screwed over their fans". What...do they owe you something? Grow the f***k up!
I've been a fan since the day that I heard "Hit the Lights" on the Metal Massacre album and remain a fan to this day.
What a bunch of whiny-assed pansies!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ So kid, when was the first time you heard Metal Massacre? You kids pretending to be long time Metallica fans are just pathetic. Metallica sucks the balls of a goat.
Question for Kirk, did you and your gay houseboy do the decorating?
mike Sep 20th 2006 10:35AM
Beautiful house. But not like Kirk's music. There is nothing evil, simple end ordinary.
Jesus Sep 20th 2006 2:05PM
Holy f**k.. Even if St. Anger may not be the best album in history, it's no reason for being dickheads. Metallica rules, an Kirk is a very skilled guitarist with a really nice house^^

It is a Beautiful home! I think most just try to match up the Metallica look with what the home is supposed to look like.

This house has been on the market FOREVER. But you should check out 3701 Washington St in SF, listed my Decker Bullock...it is a much more impressive property, especially the exterior of the house
Micky Sep 22nd 2006 8:35PM
What a bunch of snooty c**ts. F**k you all! Kirk and metallica deserve more credit than this.
seventy7shadows Sep 23rd 2006 2:42AM
Does the house come with underaged goth whores?
tanersan Sep 26th 2006 7:13PM
Kirk is not the one that has got the house like this, get angry to the politicians for the unsolved world problems.
Kirk and the other band members deserve everything they have got, they work hard like many others (like me).
...and do not be jealous, work hard and create your own world.

Nice diggs, not a big fan of the red ceiling in the kitchen but i guess you can't have it all.
Kirk's music is all right, i personally like the earlier stuff to the newer stuff, but the new stuff is not bad ether, just my tatse.

Where was the "cocaine" room, behind the bar in in the billards/entertainment room?
