Whitepod
We're not usually fans of the whole tent and camping thing but lately we've seen some rather good reasons to brave
the elements. Sometimes nothing gets you closer to the action. The Whitepods are a collection of geodesic dome-styled
tents tucked high up in the Swiss Alps. The eco camp holds ten guests and access is by ski or snowshoes only. No cars,
no buses, just peace and quiet and plenty of snow. The guests don't entirely rough it, there is a chef who prepares
traditional foods, expeditions with mountain guides and most of your time can be spent around the fire in a traditional
Swiss chalet. But for sleeping there are five pods on wooden platforms that are bedrooms designed for double or single
occupancy. Each one is heated by a wood burning stove and has large windows facing the bed offer breathtaking
views to wake up to. The all-inclusive adventure costs approximately $440 per night and there is a minimum stay of two
nights.
